Why do your DRP1 antibodies detect a doublet by western blot?

We see a range of bands between approximately 78 - 82 kDa when using our DRP1 antibodies for western blotting. The bands normally present as a doublet, but sometimes appear as 3 or more bands. We believe that the banding pattern is due to post-translational modification, including phosphorylation, acetylation and sumoylation.
