    Product Information

    Product Description

This Cell Signaling Technology® antibody retains the antigen-binding Fab regions of the original parent host sequence from which it is engineered. This antibody is expected to exhibit the same species cross-reactivity as PLP1 (E9V1N) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody #28702.

    Product Usage Information

    Application Dilution
    Immunofluorescence (Frozen) 1:200 - 1:800

    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    实验步骤

    Specificity / Sensitivity

PLP1 (E9V1N) Horse Chimeric Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total PLP1 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat

    Source / Purification

This recombinant chimeric antibody is engineered from PLP1 (E9V1N) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody #28702 according to animal-free protocols. The chimeric antibody retains its antigen-binding Fab regions from the original rabbit monoclonal antibody, but contains a horse-derived Fc domain. When multiplexing, Fc-directed rabbit secondaries are required to detect rabbit-host primary antibodies.

The parent antibody, PLP1 (E9V1N) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody #28702, is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human PLP1 protein.

    Background

Myelin proteolipid protein (PLP1) corresponds to the majority of myelin proteins in the CNS, providing support to axons and modulating the axonal growth (1). DM20 is the result of the alternative splicing of the plp1 gene, which is linked to oligodendrocyte differentiation and survival. The imbalance of PLP1/DM20 is linked to Pelizaeus-Merzbacher disease (2,3), including mitochondrial damage (4). In addition, PLP1, but not DM20, can enter the mitochondria and participate in the metabolism of cells (5).
