    Specificity / Sensitivity

Kidins220 (F8D3R) Rabbit Monoclonal Antibody recognizes endogenous levels of total Kidins220 protein.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues near the carboxy terminus of human Kidins220 protein.

    Background

Kinase D-interacting substrate of 220 kDa (Kidins220), also known as ankyrin repeat-rich membrane spanning (ARMS), is a large transmembrane protein that functions as a signaling scaffold at the plasma membrane (1). Kidins220 is abundantly expressed in neurons, where it operates downstream of neurotrophin receptors to promote neuronal differentiation and survival (2,3). Kidins220 is also highly expressed in vascular endothelial cells and immune cells, where it plays a role in cardiovascular development and immunomodulation, respectively (4). Altered Kidins220 expression has been observed in multiple neurological and neurodegenerative disorders, including Alzheimer’s disease (AD), Huntington’s disease (HD), and Parkinson’s disease (PD) (5-8). Additionally, Kidins220 is upregulated and acts as an oncogene in several cancers, including melanoma, neuroblastoma, and gastric cancer (9-11).
