    Product Information

    Product Usage Information

For optimal ChIP results, use 5 μL of antibody and 10 μg of chromatin (approximately 4 × 106 cells) per IP. This antibody has been validated using SimpleChIP® Enzymatic Chromatin IP Kits.
    Application Dilution
    Western Blotting 1:1000
    Immunoprecipitation 1:200
    Chromatin IP 1:100

    Storage

Supplied in 10 mM sodium HEPES (pH 7.5), 150 mM NaCl, 100 µg/mL BSA, 50% glycerol, and less than 0.02% sodium azide. Store at –20°C. Do not aliquot the antibody.

    Protocol

    Specificity / Sensitivity

TAF6L (F3Q9O) recognizes endogenous levels of total TAF6L protein. This antibody detects a 250 kDa and a 19 kDa protein of unknown identity in some cell lines.

    Species Reactivity:

    Human, Mouse, Rat, Monkey

    Source / Purification

Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a synthetic peptide corresponding to residues surrounding Leu598 of human TAF6L protein.

    Background

TATA-box binding protein associated factor 6 like (TAF6L) and TAF5L are components of the SAGA complex, a histone acetyltransferase-containing complex that controls transcription by activation of target genes through histone acetylation (1). TAF6L and TAF5L are capable of activating c-Myc and Oct-4 and their downstream targets, controlling self-renewal in embryonic stem cells (2). TAF6L has been identified as a marker for glioma and bladder cancer (3,4).
