Monoclonal antibody is produced by immunizing animals with a recombinant protein specific to the intracellular domain of human SLAMF3/CD229 protein.

Background

Signaling lymphocytic activation molecule family 3 (SLAMF3/CD229) is a type-I transmembrane glycoprotein belonging to the SLAM family of immunoreceptors. Research studies have demonstrated that SLAMF3/CD229 is a homophilic, self-ligating receptor and expression is largely restricted to the surface of T cells and B cells (1,2). The extracellular domain of SLAMF3/CD229 contains a duplicated immunoglobulin (Ig)-like variable-type domain and a duplicated Ig-like C2-type domain, while the cytoplasmic domain is subject to alternative splicing and contains multiple potential tyrosine phosphorylation sites capable of recruiting signaling molecules such as EAT-2 and SAP (1,3,4). Research studies have shown that SLAMF3/CD229 is also highly overexpressed by multiple myeloma plasma cells and drives intracellular signaling cascades that promote plasma cell proliferation and survival (5-7).

IMPORTANT: For western blots, incubate membrane with diluted primary antibody in 5% w/v BSA, 1X TBS, 0.1% Tween® 20 at 4°C with gentle shaking, overnight.
